Just playing around with the drone some today. Unfortunately I lost the last third of the video, because apparently a long video gets broken up into 2gb chunks, and I did a bone headed thing by shutting down the drone before stopping the video via the controller. So of course it corrupted the last file. And it did such a perfect RETURN TO HOME landing too... :( Oh well, live an learn.

Anyway, I can see where I'm going to need to do something about the rust on the roof of the house. I think our builder used substandard material there. You can see some newer looking sheet metal on the roof, as he had to replace some of the panels and they were noticeably better looking than the original stuff he put on. When I asked him about the color difference, he said that it will all look the same in a year or two. That was 26 years ago.

During most of the flight I was around 250 feet up. I started at 125 feet, but it seemed like some of those trees were too close for comfort. Maybe I need to double check what I have the RTH height set at.

I was over my property the entire time, flying up the road that goes through it and then back again. Maybe when I get braver I'll try to circumnavigate the property. I just felt kind of nervous when I couldn't even hear the drone anymore. I noticed that the GPS tracking wasn't working any longer on my phone display, so that didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy neither.

Was a bit windier than I had expected above the tree tops. I could hear the drone's motors changing pitch as it bucked the winds, but the video seemed to remain stable.

Speaking of the video, I recorded this at 2560x1440 60fps. Unfortunately, none of the video processing software I have would handle this particular resolution and frame rate. So I wound up upscaling it to 3840 x 2160 60fps. But it created a HUGE file. 3.44gb. Hope YouTube doesn't choke on large files being uploaded.

Anyway, another successful flight. Hopefully sooner or later I will stop feeling tense when I am flying this thing WAY up there.
